Critical Care
Capital Health's Division of Critical Care joined the Department of Anesthesia in 2010 in a move approved by the Capital District Health Authority and the Dean of Medicine, Dalhousie University.
Critical Care is vitally important to the clinical operations of the perioperative portfolio, making the Division a logical fit within Anesthesia—at least for the time being. Nationally, critical care is emerging as a stand-alone specialty, a goal the Department of Anesthesia fully endorses. The department intends to support the Division of Critical Care and its members to achieve departmental status.
