Global Health and the Department of Anesthesia
The Department of Anesthesia, through its international health initiatives, aims to contribute to the improvement of anesthesia and peri-operative care globally by building shared knowledge, providing education and training, improving capacity for service delivery and engaging in research and evaluation.
Global Health Office of Anesthesia (GHOA)
The Department of Anesthesia established the Global Health Office of Anesthesia (GHOA) in 2009 to help improve peri-operative anesthesia care globally. Global Health Initiatives
Department of Anesthesia faculty members have a strong history of global engagement and outreach; they were the first to offer education and training to anesthesia professionals practising overseas and have participated in training missions to Africa, and conducted research in Asia and the Middle East. Global Health Outreach Course
